Divide your time between listening, reading and recall, with a goal you can actually check.

Start with a small goal

Choose one task, such as understanding a paragraph or using three expressions. Spend five minutes recalling yesterday’s material before revealing answers. With less time, reduce new material rather than removing review altogether.

I dag skal jeg lære tre uttrykk om arbeid.

A concrete goal: three work-related expressions.

Connect reading and audio

Spend about ten minutes on a short text: listen for meaning, read to check and replay a difficult part. Avoid spending the entire session looking up every word. Prioritise words that block understanding or serve a useful situation.

Jeg lytter først og leser etterpå.

Listen first, then read to check.

Finish with brief production

Use the final minutes to say or write a two-sentence summary. Record one issue to revisit tomorrow rather than a long discouraging list. This is a flexible practice routine, not a promise of a level within a fixed time.

Teksten handler om en person som søker jobb.

A simple summary demonstrates understanding.

Try it yourself

Try the routine for three days and record completed tasks and review needs. Adjust passage length based on whether you can summarise it.
