Build a card with meaning, gender and usage, then test yourself in a new situation.

Learn more than a translation

For a noun, add its article and a useful plural; for a verb, record a common construction. Include a short sentence you understand. Start with the meaning you encountered rather than many unrelated translations.

en avtale – Jeg har en avtale klokka to.

An agreement or appointment depending on context; here, an appointment at two.

Try retrieval before revealing

Hide the word and recall it from a meaning or situation before checking. Rereading alone does not show whether you can use it. After an error, review the example and try again after other material.

Hvordan sier jeg «موعد» i denne setningen?

Use the sentence context to choose the appropriate meaning.

Make a new context

Change one element of the example: time, person or place. Then use the word in a short message or conversation. Knowing a translation is not the same as knowing its prepositions and common verbs.

Kan vi flytte avtalen til torsdag?

Can we move the appointment to Thursday?

Try it yourself

Choose five words from a lesson, make one example each and try using them a day later without revealing the examples. Keep cards short enough to update easily.
