Check the task, organisation and verbs before adding difficult words to your response.

Understand the task

Identify your reader, purpose and the details the prompt asks for. Mark each request in your practice draft and check that you answered it. A grammatically correct text can still leave an important request unanswered.

Jeg skriver fordi jeg ønsker mer informasjon om kurset.

I am writing because I would like more information about the course.

Give each paragraph a purpose

State the purpose, add relevant details and finish with a request or conclusion. A new paragraph helps when you move to another idea; making every sentence a separate paragraph does not automatically improve organisation.

Kan dere fortelle meg når neste kurs begynner?

A specific question helps the recipient respond.

Check recurring errors

Read once for verbs, once for word order and once for spelling. Correct what you can verify; avoid replacing clear language with unfamiliar phrases at the last moment. Preserve the intended meaning.

I går sendte jeg en e-post, men jeg har ikke fått svar.

Correct word order after a time expression, with past action and present relevance.

Try it yourself

Write an email asking about a course date, location and price. Check that all three questions are present before spelling. The official task instructions take priority over any general practice checklist.
