Turn your experience into examples relevant to the job and write a clear message rather than sending the same template everywhere.

Name the role and your motivation

Read the advertisement and identify two main tasks. Name the role and give a reason connected to the work. Saying that you want any job does not explain your interest in this specific position.

Jeg søker på stillingen som butikkmedarbeider.

I am applying for the shop assistant position.

Give evidence of your experience

Instead of only calling yourself organised or cooperative, describe something you actually did. Choose a brief example that demonstrates the required skill. Experience may come from employment, training or volunteering, but never invent it.

I min forrige jobb hjalp jeg kunder og fylte på varer.

In my previous job I helped customers and restocked goods.

End with a clear next step

Finish politely and check your contact details and required attachments. Do not mention a missing attachment. If the advertisement requires an application portal, follow that instruction rather than emailing an unrelated address.

Jeg legger ved CV-en min og stiller gjerne til intervju.

I attach my CV and would be happy to attend an interview.

Try it yourself

Write three sentences for a role you understand: the position, a real experience example and a closing. Compare them with the advertisement and remove phrases that add no information.
