A new messaging app made cooperation at work easier. Questions could be answered quickly and information was easy to find. Yet Lina eventually noticed she checked her phone after work too. She feared seeming uncommitted if she did not answer immediately. She raised the problem at a staff meeting. Several colleagues recognised it, while others liked the flexibility. The group discussed which messages were genuinely urgent and which could wait. They agreed on clearer response-time expectations and marking important messages. Lina found switching off easier when she knew what was expected. Technology did not disappear but gained a more limited place. The experience showed that good availability could also require good boundaries.
