Numbers and quantities

Numbers come before nouns: to billetter. Some plural forms, such as barn, do not change.

The rule, step by step

  1. After a number above one, use a plural count noun: to billetter, without a singular indefinite article.
  2. Mange is for countable items such as bøker. Mye is for uncountable amounts such as vann.
  3. Ett in ett hus emphasises the number one. Et in et hus is the neuter indefinite article.

Sentence pattern

to billetter · mange bøker · mye vann
